Popakademie celebrates end of semester with more than 40 bands

"You can't get more live music in one week! The program covers all genres of popular music and is proof of the attractiveness of the UNESCO City of Music Mannheim," says Prof. Udo Dahmen, Artistic Director and Managing Director of the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg.

Live concerts in extraordinary surroundings
Two bands will perform on Tuesday, July 18th 2023 at the Mannheim Planetarium. The visitors can look forward to impressive visualizations to the music of EYPA and LUZIFA.

The Arab-German duo EYPA Eyad Ghannam (E-Oud - Arabic short-necked lute) and Paul-Aaron Wolf (drums, synthesizer) combine different cultural and musical influences in their music to create a unified electro-acoustic sound. As a transcultural project, EYPA tries to remove the categorical separation between two cultures to a certain extent and to let a new world emerge. What the electro duo wants to achieve with their music: To be in the here and now.
LUZIFA wears her heart on her sleeve and lives her emotionality. Their lyrics are blunt, sometimes critical and mostly explosive. Thick beats, pushing bass and elegant, rocking guitars meet boldly between hiphop, rock and indie. LUZIFA is the soundtrack of young, emancipated women.
