Popakademie Talks
The Popakademie Talks start on Tuesday, 09.04.2024 at 7 pm with Esther Nass, who will present the European project PRIhME (Power Relations In Higher Music Education), in which the Popakademie was also significantly involved. Nass is a project manager and democracy enthusiast. Her work revolves around democracy, empowering people to participate in decision-making processes. She was Director of the Consul Democracy Foundation, which uses free and open source software for participatory democracy, as well as Director of EU Affairs and Strategic Project Manager at Civocracy. As co-developer and working group chair of the PRIhME project, Nass designed and implemented European stakeholder assemblies on power relations in higher music education (HME). In doing so, she applied practices and principles of deliberative democracy to the context of HME, addressing issues such as access, student participation and gender bias. The creation of PRIhME was a direct result of her work as project coordinator at the AEC, the European Network for Higher Music Education. She has a background in European Studies and enjoys making music in her spare time.
