Popakademie alumni receives German Music Authors' Award

Popakademie alumni Jennifer Allendörfer aka Suena and her partner Lucry were awarded the German Music Author:s Prize 2022 by GEMA.

The award ceremony took place on 24 March and could be followed via livestream. The prizes were awarded by a jury of experts in seven categories, each with three nominees. Suena and Lucry were able to convince in the category "Composition Hip-Hop" and win the prize for the third time in a row. Already in 2020 and 2021, the successful producer duo was awarded in the category "Most Successful Work" for their song "Roller" together with the rapper Apache 207, which broke all musical records and dominated the charts for a time.

Suena studied Pop Music Design B.A. with a focus on producing at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg until 2018. Then she moved to Berlin, where she met producer Luis Cruz aka Lucry at a studio session. Since then they have primarily performed as a duo and have already been awarded gold, platinum and diamond.

The German Music Authors' Award was established by GEMA in 2009 to honour composers and lyricists in the German music industry for their outstanding achievements. Under the motto "Authors honour authors", music creators who are often not on stage but in the shadow of performers are promoted. All award winners and nominees are accepted as members of the Academy of German Music Authors (ADMA).
