Johannes Stange

Johannes Stange began playing the trumpet at the age of seven. After a classical music school education, he completed a bachelor's degree with a major in jazz trumpet with Prof. Stephan Zimmermann at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts from 2007 to 2012. From 2012 to 2015 he will continue his master studies in jazz composition with Prof. Jürgen Friedrich, also in Mannheim.

Johannes Stange played in the German Federal Jazz Orchestra (BuJazzO) and is founder and musical director of the Tangojazz Orchestra GOZO and the oldtime jazz ensemble Little Vintage Orchestra. He is a founding member of the oriental jazz ensemble LebiDerya. In 2017 the trumpeter was awarded a scholarship by the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg. Johannes Stange lives in Mannheim and works there as trumpeter, arranger and composer.
