World class of the drum and percussion scene at the 8th World Drum Festival

The program for the eighth World Drum Festival has been finalized. On Saturday, November 19, 2022, an international line-up of top-class artists from the drum and percussion scene and interested professionals will meet at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg to exchange ideas.

At the World Drum Festival, drummers, percussionists and percussionists from different world cultures meet to make music, exchange ideas and network. In a mixture of workshops, masterclasses, panels and concerts, world-class soloists will present themselves to an interested professional audience. They will show what is currently the state of the art in the international drum and percussion scene.

The festival takes place in cooperation with the Cultural Office of the City of Mannheim and the European drummers' association "Percussion Creativ". The hybrid event format will again allow all interested drummers and percussionists to participate in 2022. On-site participation at the Popakademie requires registration, the live stream will be available on the day of the event via our website.

This year's participants include internationally renowned musicians such as Anika Nilles (dr.) and her band Nevell, Claus Hessler (dr.) and his band Flux, Ash Soan (dr.), Jost Nickel (dr.), Murat Coskun (framedrums), Pape Seck (perc.), Siros Vaziri (dr.), Santino Scavelli (perc.) and Joannie Labelle (perc.).
