Popakademie students launch podcast flüsterpop

04. May 2020

"Shh, quiet, flüsterpop". This was the motto under which the four students of the Music and Creative Industries degree programme Artur Jansen, Fabian Henning, Ann-Marie Utz and Zora Martin launched their podcast "flüsterpop" yesterday.

The podcast is all about the music, packed into the everyday life of the Popakademie students. In a relaxed atmosphere and through entertaining fluesterpop formats, they take the listeners on a journey through what currently moves the students, from concert experiences to pub stories and news from the music scene. Popakademie everyday life. The podcast fluesterpop can be accessed via the usual streaming platforms. Further information on the podcast can be found on Instagram and Facebook.

Besides flüsterpop there are two other podcast formats from the Popakademie cosmos. Prof. Udo Dahmen, artistic director and managing director of the Popakademie, has been telling the stories behind the great songs of pop history in "Erklär mit Pop" on SWR2 since January 2013. The latest episodes, for example, deal with the songs "Zombie" by Afrobeat founder Fela Kuti and "Jump City" by US rock and blues singer Willy DeVille. The podcast is available via Spotify, iTunes, the ARD Mediathek and online at swr.de.

In her podcast "HörMA", Linda Engelen, who completed her Voluntary Social Year in Culture at the Popakademie in 2018/2019, interviews artists of the Popakademie and the Mannheim Unesco City of Music. So far, she has already spoken with Popakademie students Johanna Herzer Santana, LEYF and Laura Lato to make Mannheim's cultural scene heard. The podcast is available on Listennotes.de as well as on all major portals.
