RippRock Festival on 25 June with many Popakademie bands

Popakademie bands on stage at RippRock Festival

16. May 2022

On Saturday, 25 June, the RippRock Festival will take place for the first time in Weinheim-Rippenweier. The festival was set up in partnership with the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg.

On the occasion of the war in Ukraine, the organisers want to set a sign with the RippRock Festival 2022 against hatred, autocracy, misanthropy and for togetherness, peace and our democracy. With the motto "Together, Loud and Reverberating - with Rock Music for a Better World!", RippRock offers a platform for protest against the war - with young bands from the Rhine-Neckar Delta and beyond, as well as concrete actions to support Ukrainian refugees. The festival will take place in Weinheim-Rippenweier on Saturday, 25 June 2022 from 12 noon.

Many of the artists performing there have their roots in the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg, such as the bands bölter (with Pop Music Design B.A. graduate Philipp Bölter), Miss Foxy (with Popakademie Department Chief for Drums Anika Nilles and Popular Music M.A. graduate Steffi Bär) and Nikra. Nikra consists of students from the Pop Music Design B.A. programme and was brought to the festival by the Popakademie's own artist agency KLINKT.

The academy's own agency for music services KLINKT has been placing solo musicians, bands and producers from the Popakademie for live events or projects in the field of music marketing since 2007. The artist and marketing agency is thus the interface between the Popakademie's musicians and the economy and society in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region.
