Not one but two Bandpool acts win award for pop culture 2022

07. October 2022

On October 4th 2022, the Prize for Pop Culture was awarded for the sixth time in Berlin. The association "Förderung für Popkultur e.V." awards its prizes in eleven different categories, e.g. favorite artist, favorite band, favorite song and many more. The jury, consisting of players from the music industry, evaluates the talent of the participants and wants to guarantee fairness and comprehensibility of the competition, whereby the commercial success should not be the decisive component.

This year, two acts from the Bandpool took home an award in one category each. Producer/songwriter Novaa (17th generation of the Bandpool) came out on top in the "Favorite Producer*" category. Prior to her participation in the band pool, Novaa studied in the bachelor's degree program in pop music design at the Pop Academy with a focus on songwriting/composition.

Betterøv (21st generation of the Bandpool) was nominated in the categories "Favorite Video", "Most Impressive Live Show" and "Most Hopeful* Newcomer*" and was happy to receive the award for his video "Bring me home". The songs, located between indie rock and post-punk, deal with the big topics of his generation: growing up, for example. Or what it's like when home is no longer the place to stay.
