Prof. Mathias "Maze" Leber began to play and compose his own music in his earliest youth in addition to his piano lessons. After studying piano at the conservatory in Frankfurt am Main, he decided to pursue a career as a professional keyboardist. As a studio and live keyboardist he played and still plays in the following acts: Xavier Naidoo, Rebekka Bakken, Edo Zanki, Anika Nilles, Sabrina Setlur, Glashaus, Six Was Nine, Laith Al-Deen, Michael Saddler (SAGA), Cassandra Steen, Max Mutzke, Moses Pelham, Joe Kraus, Mardi Gras BB, Simon Collins, Prezident Brown, Kim Sanders, Curse, Rödelheim Hartreim Project, Rilke Project (with Giora Feidman, Jürgen Prochnow, Hannelore Elsner, Ben Becker, among others)

Since 2003 Prof. Mathias Leber is Department Chief Keyboard and lecturer in band coaching. He also works as a lecturer at various workshops and music camps at home and abroad. In 2015 he published the book "Modern Pop Piano" at Schott-Verlag/Mainz, in which his many years of experience as a teacher and composer are incorporated.
