Popakademie bands live on stage!

At the "Work in Progress Club" the students of the Department of Popular Music present their current projects.

In cooperation with the Popakademie, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research, and the Arts is presenting the POPLÄND Award. Three categories (live act, live music venue, producing) will each receive €10,000 in prize money. Further information to follow.

In cooperation with the State University of Music and Performing Arts, the Kurpfälzisches Chamber Orchestra, and the Mannheim Music School.

The founding of the “public music school” in Mannheim in November 1776 by Georg Joseph Abbé Vogler was an outstanding pioneering achievement. The training of professional musicians, financed by Elector Carl Theodor, can be regarded as the first precursor to state music academies. Reason enough for a joint gala concert, for which the National Theater Mannheim, the State University of Music and Performing Arts, the Kurpfälzisches Chamber Orchestra, the Mannheim Music School, and the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg are joining forces.
