AI technology from Popakademie alumni continues on the road to success

01. October 2021

Mannheim-based music tech startup Cyanite, founded by three master's degree graduates (Music and Creative Industries) Jakob Höflich, Markus Schwarzer and Joshua Weikert, announces its strategic partnership with the largest production music library in North America, California-based APM Music, in September.

Cyanite's AI technology automatically understands and categorizes music to recommend songs in a targeted and accurate way, regardless of the use case or search query. Using Cyanite's proprietary algorithms for precise music analysis, search queries on music platforms are processed within a very short time.
With the AI integration into its own music library, APM Music optimizes the performance and quality of its platform and expands it in a forward-looking way. The goal of the partnership with Cyanite is to strengthen both the accurate music search and the exploitation of the diversity of their music catalog.

"We are delighted to be working with such a renowned music company as APM Music, where all team members are proven experts in their fields. Being selected as an AI partner for the important and comprehensive transition into this new age of music recommendation is a source of pride for our entire team," said Markus Schwarzer, CEO of Cyanite.

But APM Music is not the startup's only enthusiastic partner. Companies such as the media group RTL, the record pool BPM Supreme, the radio station SWR, the music publishers NEUBAU Music and Schubert Music as well as the sound branding agencies Universal Music Solutions, TAMBR and amp sound branding, now also trust Cyanite's innovative algorithms.

Cyanite emerged from the start-up Groovecat, a social music app developed in 2016 at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg as part of its studies.
Those who would like to test Cyanite's technology can register for the web app free of charge and upload music or integrate Cyanite into an existing system via an interface.
