YouTube again awards scholarships to Popakademie students

02. December 2020

For the third time, YouTube has awarded its Career Fundings to students of the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg. Due to the Corona Pandemic, the award ceremony took place digitally on 30 November 2020.

Nine students from the University institution in Mannheim received the award, three of them students from the music and creative industries, and six students from the popular music department. They will now each receive one-off funding of 2,500 and 3,000 euros.

A total of 30 entries were submitted to the jury, which consisted of industry representatives Laura Noel (BMG), Kiki Ganzemüller (YouTube), Julian Krohn (White Horse Music), Johannes Scholz (Irrsinn Tonträger) as well as the artistic director of the Popakademie, Professor Udo Dahmen, and Professor Hubert Wandjo, Business Director of the Popakademie.

The YouTube Career Funding is a project grant. The scholarships support students in the foundation phase of a start-up or in setting up a music project.
