YouTube Career Fundings and Mannheim Scholarships support students at the Mannheim Popakademie.

For the fourth time, YouTube has honored nine students, including two students from the Department of Music and Creative Industries and seven students from the Department of Popular Music. They will now each receive a one-time grant of 3,000 euros. The scholarship holders are Anna Hartkopf for the project "BIG FLING", Peter Brucker for "Mosel Vibes", Harrison McClary with his own band project "Harrison McClary", Henri Heiland with the project "LARIFARI", Ines Vogt with the project "JIL", Jonathan Fischer with the project "Jonathan Baily", Nora Seidel with "Nora OG", Sophia Butzinger with the project "PHEA" and Tobias Stulz with the project "SENNA".

This year's jury consisted of the Pop Academy's managing directors Prof. Udo Dahmen and Prof. Hubert Wandjo, as well as Kiki Ganzemüller (YouTube), Laura Noel (BMG), Johannes Scholz (Irrsinn Tonträger GmbH), Maria Heimer (Easy Agency) and Julian Krohn (Scholz & Friends), all Pop Academy alumni.
The YouTube Career Funding is a project funding that has existed in cooperation with YouTube since 2017. The scholarships support students in the founding phase of a start-up or in setting up a music project.

The Mannheim Scholarship was also awarded to two students at the Popakademie. With this, the city of Mannheim wants to show its commitment to the universities and, in the case of the Pop Academy, sponsors one:n student:n each from the departments of Music and Creative Industries and Popular Music with 150 euros per month over the course of two semesters. This year's recipients are Elvira Besel (Music Business B.A.) and Laurin Stürmer (Popular Music M.A.).

In addition to the scholarship recipients, Prof. Hubert Wandjo and Prof. Udo Dahmen, as well as Christiane Ram (Head of the Department of Economic and Structural Development of the City of Mannheim), Anett Jakob-Jüngling and Harald Pfeiffer from the department "People & Skills" were present at the virtual scholarship award ceremony. Prerequisites for a sponsorship by the city of Mannheim are good academic performance with special consideration of social commitment as well as biographical characteristics.
